Robert George Laventure, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2013. He leaves his beloved family, including his wife, Else “Susie” Laventure; his son, George Laventure and his wife Judy; his grandson, Ryan Laventure; his granddaughter, Alison Gagnon and her husband Nathan; and his half sister, Kathy Schutzer. He was predeceased in 2005 by his daughter, Elke Laventure.
     Robert returned after 20 years in the Army (SFC E-7). He served 3 years in Germany and 16 months in Korea. He continued working at Diamond International and later retired from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, both in Worcester. Robert had a love for nature and all sports, especially skiing and snow shoeing. He continued to exercise daily his entire life.
     Graveside services will be held on Friday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
