Subscription Update Obituary

     Rita (Allaire) Dion, 98, formerly of Country Club Blvd., died on Monday, November 25th in the Saint Francis Home after an illness.

     Mrs. Dion was married to the late George E. Dion Sr. for 65 years; he passed away in September 2004. She is survived by two sons, Richard P. Dion of Leicester, MA and Robert J. Dion of Nashua, NH; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and many nephews and nieces.

    Rita was born in Worcester, daughter of the late George and Annie (Sanguinet) Allaire and is predeceased by a son, George E. Dion Jr. as well as 9 sisters and 2 brothers. She worked for the former Capitol Footwear for many years before she retired in 1981.

     She currently was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and previously was a member of the former Holy Name of Jesus Church in Worcester until it’s closing in 2008 where she was also a member of the Golden Age Club. Rita also belonged to the Franco American Club and the 52 Club of Lincoln Village.

     The funeral will be held on Monday, December 2nd from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 1st from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Rita, may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Family Center Campaign 1222 Main Street Worcester, MA 01603.
