Subscription Update Obituary

     Pauline M. (McNeil) Washkevich, 80, passed away at home on Saturday, August 31, 2013 after an illness.
     She leaves her husband of 60 years, Conrad D. Washkevich; two sons, Stephen C. Washkevich and his wife Nancy of Holden and Michael S. Washkevich and his wife Theresa of Forestdale; a daughter, Debra L. Couture and her husband Kenneth of Whitinsville; a brother, Carl Gordon, Jr. of Clinton; a sister, Carol Koocherook of Auburn; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brother, William McNeil.
     Pauline was born in Marlborough, the daughter of Wallace and Harriet (Richardson) McNeil and raised in Lancaster by her mother and step-father, Carl Gordon, Sr. before moving to Shrewsbury where she lived for many years. She loved ceramics and taught classes in her home. She enjoyed square dancing, round dancing and dancing the polka, playing cards, cooking, yard sales, flea markets, hummingbirds and her dogs. Pauline cherished wintering in Florida and traveling with her husband in their RV; and time spent with her family and friends.
     Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 12 noon on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608; or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
