Martha S. (Luoma) Hyytiainen, 98, of 1600 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury, CT and formerly of Leicester died Thursday, March 7, 2013, in her home.
     Her husband, Elmer E. Hyytiainen died in 1998. She leaves two daughters, Ann L. Galas and her husband Stephen of Granby, CT and Nina M. Laliberte and her husband Paul of Landisville, PA; three grandchildren, Laura Sider and her husband Justin of New Haven, CT, John Galas of Astoria, NY and Sarah Laliberte of Somerville, MA; four sisters, Evelyn Parker of Burlington, VT, Sylvia Forgit of Leicester, Ruth Guilfoyle of Gloversville, NY and Nancy Dorr of Rochdale and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
      Mrs. Hyytiainen was born in Worcester, daughter of Jacob and Sanna (Rantamaki) Luoma. She graduated from Rutland High School. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Worcester. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and baking.
     Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 12 at 11:00 AM in MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 10:00-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 301, Simsbury, CT 06070.
