Subscription Update Obituary

     Margaret Elizabeth (Mountain) Delamere Carney, 87, formerly of Williamsburg Court, Shrewsbury, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the Lutheran Home.

     She was predeceased by her husbands, James Delamere in 1951 and Paul F. Carney in 1981, and her son Steven J. Delamere in 1988.

     Margaret is survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda A. Delamere of Worcester; three grandchildren, Michael Delamere of Issaquah, WA, Timothy Delamere of Worcester and Nicole Delamere of Worcester; and two great grandchildren, Cameron and Selene. She also leaves her sister Ann (Mountain) Cucchiara of Melbourne, FL and nephews and nieces.

     She was born in Whitinsville, daughter of Michael A. and Isabelle A. (Williams) Mountain. Margaret was a nurse for many years. She worked at the former Worcester County Hospital in Boylston until its closing, then at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham until her retirement in 1996. She was a longtime and active member of St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and she was a member of the Massachusetts Retired Nurses Association.

     Margaret’s funeral will be held on Thursday, December 20th from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to the St. Anne’s Church-Free Medical Clinic, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA
