Subscription Update Obituary

     Joseph A. Cahill, 81, formerly of Grafton, died Monday, August 26, 2013 at UMass Memorial Medical Center- University Campus, after a brief illness. He leaves two sisters, Margaret M. Coyne and her husband Patrick of Worcester, Mary McMahon of County Clare, Ireland; a brother, Michael M. Cahill and his wife Eileen, also of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, John Cahill of Grafton and James Cahill of County Limerick, Ireland, both predeceased him.
     He was born and raised in County Clare, Ireland, son of the late Daniel and Katherine (Roche) Cahill and lived in London before moving to the United States in 1964.
     Joe worked in boiler maintenance and capital planning at the former Grafton State Hospital and at the Lyman School in Westborough for many years. He retired in 1992. He enjoyed watching Irish hurling and all of the New England Sports Teams. He also played golf for many years at Pakachoag Golf Course in Auburn.
     CALLING HOURS will be held from 9 to 10:15 A.M. on FRIDAY, AUG. 30 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St., Worcester, followed by a FUNERAL MASS at 11 A.M. at OUR LADY OF PROVIDENCE PARISH, (St. Bernard’s Church) 228 Lincoln St. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
