Subscription Update Obituary

     Helen Katherine (Baniukiewicz) Pietrowski, 92, formerly of Worcester, MA passed away peacefully on February 8, 2013 in Richmond Place Healthcare Center in Lexington, KY. Her husband of nearly sixty years, Alfons Pietrowski died in 2003. She is survived by her son, Philip E. Pietrowski, Sr. and his wife Margaret of Lexington KY. She also leaves four grandchildren; Philip E. Pietrowski Jr., Lauren Gaffney and her husband Martin, David T. Pietrowski and his wife Monica, and Kristen J. Liporto and her husband Brian; four great grandchildren; Violet, Philip III, Annalise Pietrowski and Graham Liporto. She was predeceased by a daughter A. Kathleen Pietrowski; two brothers, Theodore and Charles Baniukiewicz and a great grandson Miles Liporto. She was born in Worcester, MA a daughter of Chester and Katherine (Mozdzierz) Baniukiewicz.
     Mrs. Pietrowski worked for many years as an administrator for the Federal Milk Market. She was the proud matriarch of her family and enjoyed gardening, cooking and painting ceramics. She shared a close bond with both Phil and Margaret and was very proud of their accomplishments. She was a proud member of the Polish Falcons (where she met her husband) and was on their trophy winning gymnastics team. In recent years she moved to Lexington, KY to be closer to her son/daughter -in-law. Helen enjoyed an active social life there playing canasta & other games with friends. She even acted as a model in a fashion show for other residents at Richmond Place which she greatly enjoyed.
     The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11:00 am in HENRY- DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester, MA. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA. A calling hour in the funeral home will be on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
