Subscription Update Obituary

     Gertrude “Trudy” E. Baxter of Wellesley Hills, formerly of Worcester, died peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Sunday, November 25, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Baxter, Jr. Trudy is survived by her children, James Baxter and his wife Pamela of Wellesley Hills, John Baxter and Dawn Reamer of Chicago, IL and Thomas Baxter. She was the cherished grandmother of Alexis and Alicia Baxter. Trudy was the daughter of the late Francis and Gertrude (McGrath) Horan. She was the devoted sister of the late John Horan of Worcester and Francis Horan of Shrewsbury.
     Trudy attended Worcester public schools and graduated from South High School in 1943. She worked for many years as a sales representative for John Hancock Life Insurance Company and received several honors recognizing her years of service. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling with her family. Trudy and her late husband were devoted sports fans of The College of the Holy Cross and Duke University. She was proud of her many friendships with her card club that continued for sixty years. Trudy was a member of the greatest generation that survived the Depression and World War II. Trudy will be missed by all those who knew her.
     Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, November 28 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Trudy on Thursday, November 29 at 11:00 am at Christ The King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Trudy’s name to the College of the Holy Cross, 1 College Street, Worcester, MA 01610 or Christ The King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester, MA 01602.
