Subscription Update Obituary

     Evelyn A. (Sarb) Mariano, 88, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, in Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Worcester.
     Her husband of sixty years, Rudolph M. Mariano, predeceased her in May 2002. She is survived by their son, Rudolph V. Mariano of Worcester; her sister and best friend, Lila M. Richards of Auburn; three grandchildren and a great granddaughter; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Adele Whitley and a brother, Francis Sarb. Evelyn was born in Worcester, daughter of George and Josephine (Lian) Sarb and has lived in Worcester all her life.
     Evelyn worked as a salesperson at the former Hit or Miss women’s apparel store for many years. She had previously worked for over twenty years at Filene’s Department Store. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the DAV Auxiliary. She enjoyed B.I.N.G.O. and reading.
     Calling hours for Evelyn will be held on Saturday, December 22, from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
