Subscription Update Obituary

     Elizabeth L. “Betty” (Ferguson) Murphy, 82, of Worcester, died Thursday, June 13th in Holy Trinity Nursing Center. Her husband of 53 years, Charles F. Murphy, died in 2008. She leaves a son, Charles P. Murphy and his wife Christine of Oxford; a daughter, Cindy J. Donahue and her husband Paul of West Boylston; a sister, Nancy McKeon of Arleta, CA; five grandchildren, Michael, Nicole, and Sean Murphy, and Kerry and James Donahue; three great grandchildren, Owen Montague, Kloe Howe, and Hailey Elizabeth Donahue. She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Donald Ferguson.
     She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Sidney and Delia (Cashman) Ferguson and lived here all her life. Mrs. Murphy graduated from the former High School of Commerce. She was a cafeteria worker at West Tatnuck School for many years and later was a secretary for Worcester Airport Limousine.
     The funeral is Wednesday, June 19th with a service at 10:00 A.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, June 18th from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pink Revolution Breast Cancer Alliance, c/o UMass Memorial Development Office, 333 South Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
