Subscription Update Obituary

     Edward F. O’Gara, 85, of Worcester died Friday, February 15, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. His wife of 35 years, Janet V. (Roberts) O’Gara died in 2011. He leaves three sons, David O’Gara and his wife, Ann Marie of Auburn, John O’Gara and his wife, Lynette of Florida and Alan O’Gara and his wife, Denise of Worcester; a brother, John O’Gara and his wife Grace of Worcester; a sister, Mary Mahan and her husband Kenneth of Worcester; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
      He was born in Worcester, the son of Thomas and Ethel (Holt) O’Gara and graduated from South High School in 1945. Edward was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He worked for Wyman Gordon for 39 years in the Forge Shop. Mr. O’Gara also worked as a roofer. He worked the polls in the City of Worcester for many years and was the Chairman for Ward 7 Republican Committee. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and the Worcester Republican Committee.
     Mr. O’Gara’s funeral is Monday, February 18 from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, February 17th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
