Angelina "Angie" M. (Marzilli) Vescera, 92, formerly of Westbrook Crossing in Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully, April 9, 2011 with her family by her side in Stockton, California.
Angie was born in Worcester, March 13, 1919; her parents were the late, Antonio and Michelina (Flaminio) Marzilli. She grew up and lived many years in Worcester, before moving to Shrewsbury Crossing.
Angie's husband of 60 years, Pasquale J. Vescera, passed away in 2002. She is survived by her devoted son, Dr. Samuel Vescera and his wife Sherry of Stockton, California; two sisters, Mary Di Pasquale of Worcester, Esther Fitzgerald and her husband Albert "Fitzy" of Brewster; six grandchildren she adored, Samuel Vescera, Jr, Dina Vescera, and Darcie Kiser all of California, Kimberly Miller and Kate Pappas of Scottsdale, AZ, and Karen Pappas of Stockton, CA; five great grandchildren who adored her, Blake Vescera, Makayla and Austin Kiser, Jordan Castro, and Madison Miller; She also survived by two sisters-in-law, Antoinette Palermo, and Helyn Vescere; two brothers-in-law, Libro Vescera and Pasquale DiPilato; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends with whom she shared a lifetime of wonderful memories. Angie was predeceased by a brother, Thomas P. Marzilli, Sr., a sister, Jennie (Marzilli) Di Pilato, brothers in-law, Frank DiPasquale, Michael Vescera, Frank and James Vescere. Her generosity and warm smile will be missed by all who knew her.
She was a long time Designer and Supervisor at the Paul Hats Co, in Worcester.
Angie was a great cook, her homemade pies and cookies were legendary. Angie was also proficient in sewing, crocheting and knitting and a devoted fan of all Boston sports especially, the Red Sox.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Monday, April 18th from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association , PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
